Most people think fight-or-flight means panic or anxiety. But many people live in a chronic state of low-grade survival mode—and don’t even know it.

This hidden stress response drains the body’s healing energy, disrupts your physiology, and keeps you stuck in the very symptoms you’re trying to resolve.

What It Means to Be in Fight-or-Flight

It doesn’t always look like panic. It often looks like:

Physical signs:

  • Jaw, neck, or shoulder tension
  • Digestive issues (bloating, reflux, constipation)
  • Shallow breathing or breath-holding
  • Poor sleep (difficulty falling or staying asleep)
  • Blood sugar swings, fatigue, hormonal shifts
  • Needing caffeine to function or think
  • High Blood Pressure
  • Autoimmune
  • Pain in the body

Mental & emotional signs:

  • Racing thoughts or overthinking
  • Feeling overwhelmed or reactive
  • Irritability or emotional flatness
  • Feeling disconnected from yourself or others
  • Difficulty relaxing—even when things are “fine”
  • Can’t sit still, always gotta be doing something
  • You say things like “my meditation is when I run or ride my bike”

These are not random issues. They’re signs your nervous system is locked in sympathetic dominance—a survival state.

And here’s the critical part: healing is impossible in this state.

Healing Is Voltage

Dr. Jerry Tennant, MD and author of Healing is Voltage, teaches that your cells require -20 to -25 mV of energy to function properly and at least -50 millivolts to generate new cells that work—and about -75mV (he theorizes based on research) to regenerate tissue completely.

You may not have heard of this concept before, but you’ve likely heard of pH. What most people don’t realize is that pH is actually a measure of voltage in a liquid. When Tennant says your cells need -25mV, he’s really saying they need a cellular pH of 7.35 to 7.45 to function properly.

When your body can’t generate or maintain this voltage, fewer and fewer cells work. Chronic issues set in. Organs and tissues send out stress signals. You feel inflamed, tense, tired, stiff, in pain. You can’t sleep. You start hearing labels like:

  • Blood pressure issues
  • High cholesterol
  • Autoimmune disorders
  • Insulin resistance
  • Fatty liver
  • Tired all the time
  • Can’t sleep
  • Adrenal fatigue

When your voltage drops, symptoms appear.

We call it aging. But it’s really the body losing its charge.

Low Voltage = Low Oxygen

As the voltage drops your cells can’t hold on to oxygen, which means they can’t make energy. Instead of producing 38 ATP per glucose molecule (normal metabolism), your cells make only 2 ATP. That’s survival-mode energy.  As Dr. Tennant says, that’s like your car only getting 2 miles/gallon instead of 38 miles/gallon.

Now there isn’t enough to detox, rebuild, or maintain equilibrium. Your internal environment becomes acidic, sluggish, toxic.

Low voltage = low oxygen is not just a metaphor. It’s measurable—and reversible.

What Causes Low Voltage?

Dr. Tennant outlines five primary voltage-drainers, which he refers to as the “Don’t Eat the Turtle Soup” factors:

  • Dental infections
  • Emotions that are unresolved
  • Toxins (environmental and internal)
  • Thyroid hormone deficiencies (Your T3 should ideally be 3-4, closer to 4 pg/ml)
  • Scars, piercings, or tattoos disrupting electrical flow

Each of these creates blockages in the body’s wiring system—your fascia and meridian circuits—making it harder for energy to flow where it’s needed.

We’ll explore these in more detail in future posts. For now, just know: if voltage can’t get to an organ, it can’t heal. Like your cell phone, if you can’t charge your cell phone, it won’t work.

This is where working with a skilled functional medicine provider can make a difference. They can help you identify hidden infections, nutrient imbalances, mitochondrial dysfunction, and other root causes that are silently draining your voltage and blocking regeneration.

What Depletes Voltage?

We’ve talked about the importance of voltage—but where does it go?

Many everyday substances and habits steal energy from the body. Here are some of the most common:

  • Acidic water (tap, chlorinated, fluoridated, or most bottled water)

  • Carbonated beverages

  • Caffeinated drinks (coffee, black tea, soda)

  • Alcohol

  • Cooked and processed food (cooking removes electrons and adds heat stress)

  • Wind, A/C, and blow dryers (moving air strips electrons from the body)

  • EMFs and excessive screen time

  • Hugs and human touch can actually transfer electrons—helping the recipient but leaving the giver temporarily depleted (this is why caregivers often feel drained)

Even healers and parents caring for sick children experience this:

The patient may improve, but the caregiver is left exhausted. That’s electron transfer in action.

What Restores Voltage (and Reverses Polarity)?

Dr. Tennant teaches that only scalar energy can reverse cellular polarity once it flips. Scalar is non-linear and non-local, meaning it doesn’t travel like electromagnetic energy—it exists everywhere, especially within the Unified Field.

When we deeply relax and bring our attention inward, we begin to align with this scalar field. In coherence with it, the body begins to recharge, and polarity can reverse. This is part of what happens during deep meditation.

But most people can’t access this state easily. That’s why other voltage-restoring practices are essential.

Here are additional ways to recharge the body:

  • Grounding (bare feet on the earth—nature is a massive electron donor)

  • Fresh, unprocessed food (especially raw, uncooked fruits and vegetables)

  • Moving water (rivers, ocean, springs; even bathing in structured water)

  • Time with pets (coherent heart fields naturally exchange electrons)

  • Exercise (muscles are piezoelectric—they generate voltage when they move)

  • Breathing deeply (oxygen is an electron acceptor and delivery vehicle)

  • Craniosacral rhythm (every pulse of cerebral spinal fluid delivers charge)

  • Sunlight (especially sunrise and sunset exposure, which enhances mitochondrial charge)

And perhaps most important: being in a parasympathetic state makes all of this more efficient.
When you’re relaxed and coherent, your system becomes receptive to the energy around and within it.

Why Relaxation Alone Isn’t Enough

When you activate parasympathetic mode (rest and repair), your body begins to slow down and stop burning energy for survival.

But that’s just the first step.

The real reason deep relaxation supports healing is because it opens the door to enormous amounts of energy—from the Unified Field itself.

The Unified Field: The Real Source of Healing

According to physicist Nassim Haramein, the vacuum of space—what we call “empty”—actually contains ~10⁹³ grams of energy per cubic centimeter. That’s a 10 with 93 zeros. He says a fraction of that energy would fuel our homes, cars, cities — our world indefinitely.

That energy is not just out in space. It’s in your body. It’s what fills the space within and around you.

When you deeply relax, your system begins to resonate with this field. You stop scattering energy and start plugging into the most powerful regenerative force in existence.

But here’s the catch:

Most people can’t access this field easily—especially if they’re already sick, burned out, or emotionally overwhelmed.

Their systems are too incoherent, too “out of phase” to receive the signal.

What Really Happens When You Meditate

When you bring your attention inward, this is what begins to happen:

  • Your brain shifts into alpha, theta, or gamma frequencies, all signs of harmonic resonance with the field.
  • External distraction fades; internal awareness expands
  • Your attention becomes a tuning mechanism for resonance
  • Microtubules (the cytoskeleton of the body) inside your cells begin to organize and radiate (as described by Stuart Hameroff and Nathan Babcock)
  • Mitochondria shift into repair mode, producing clean, efficient energy instead of stress byproducts
  • Your field begins to couple with the nested toroidal structure of the Unified Field—the true fountain of youth

This isn’t mystical. It’s biological. It’s physics.

And this is how true regeneration begins.

What Spiritual Heart Meditations Reawaken

These aren’t just stress-relief sessions. They are designed to help you:

  • Shift out of sympathetic overdrive
  • Reconnect with the Field through the portal of the heart
  • Rewire the brain and activate parasympathetic dominance
  • Create coherence—so your body can finally access the energy it needs to heal
  • Awaken the inner sensory system that allows you to perceive the deeper structure of who you truly are

This is not about escaping your body. It’s about plugging it back into its original design.

What It Looks Like to Shift Into Healing Mode

Physical signs of restoration:

  • Digestion improves
  • Breath deepens and slows
  • Sleep like a baby
  • Mitochondria function better
  • Heart rate variability (HRV) increases
  • Cellular repair and detoxification improve

Mental & emotional signs:

  • Thoughts quiet down
  • Mood stabilizes
  • Emotional awareness grows
  • Sense of presence deepens
  • A calm confidence returns
  • Intelligence increases
  • Creativity abounds
